About Us

Clevedon and District Road Club is a cycle club based in Clevedon serving North Somerset, drawing members from Portishead, Nailsea, Backwell, Congresbury and beyond. It was founded in 1952 and puts on weekly rides all year round.

CDRC is is affiliated to both Cycling UK, British Cycling and CTT.

We’re launching something exciting for the younger riders out there!  Is your child aged 9-14?  Would they like to have some fun and learn, or develop, their bike skills?

We are now a British Cycling affiliated Go-Ride Club and are starting up some youth sessions. These will help improve bike handling skills, build more confidence on the bike, and more, all in a safe and fun way.

Our first session with be on August 19th 9am- 12pm at Clevedon School. Full event and sign up details here

Riding

The main club rides are on a Sunday, with members meeting at Clevedon Triangle and then riding in a single group at an easy pace to the pick up point, where we split into 6 groups, based on speed.

During the summer months we also run a 10mile TT on Tuesday evenings.

Members of the Club also participate in a variety of non road cycling, including Track, Cyclocross, Mountain Biking.

Our Groups

Depending on the number of riders present, six groups will be formed, each usually heading to the same coffee stop, albeit by slightly different routes and at different speeds.

Group 2 : 17 - 19 mph average ~ 70 miles

Group 3: 16 – 18 mph average ~ 60 miles

Group 4: 15 – 17 mph average ~ 60 miles
