Clevedon and District Road Club (CDRC) was originally with the CTC but went ‘solo’ in 1952. The club still has some founding members actively cycling with the club on a regular basis.

We have Sunday runs starting from Clevedon Triangle all year. These will be around 4- – 80 miles with a coffee stop.

The cycling club has around 100 or so members principally from Clevedon, Portishead, Nailsea and Backwell. Sunday club runs take place every week of the year at a variety of paces. These are non competitive rides though the ‘fast group’ is quick. Some club riders make use of the velodrome in Newport and others enjoy off road racing.

Between May and September the club organises 10 mile Time Trials on Tuesday evenings that are well attended and attract a strong field – the quickest ride in 2016 was achieved by Marcin Białobłocki Poland’s national TT champion.

Please turn up in time to sign on etc.The CDRC Club ’10′ Championship will be run in June. The course is registered with CTT and run under their rules – Numbers are limited to 30 riders. All riders must have signed on by the start time.

It costs just £4.00 for riders who are a member of a CDRC and £5.00 for non members.

The club has a lively calendar with annual and ad hoc events including the Captain’s Challenge series of rides, regular social gatherings, annual pre-Christmas breakfast, annual awards evening and curry nights for those not watching their weight. It’s fair to say that the joint intelligence shared between club members of the merits and demerits of cafes within a 40 mile radius of  Clevedon is staggering.

The club is affiliated to British Cycling, Cycling UK, Cycling Time Trials, and the Western Time Trials Association.

The club’s joining subscription is just £12 a year. Please note that all members must in addition be individual members of British Cycling or Cycling UK, with a type that includes 3rd party liability.
