On arriving at Congresbury the car park was full, but not with motorists or motor vehicles, but cyclists – I counted to 35 before running out of fingers, so definitely more than that, and enough for 4 groups.
As we worked our way around the Mendips towards Hartley’s Kitchen, even more that 35 cyclists passed in the other direction, typically in small groups – Great to see so many riders out – not sure what the event was, and whilst can see fundraising or a particularly special ride being worthwhile, a general sportive on the roads we enjoy every week – why not join our club and get to do such rides every sunday?

The welcome at Hartleys was as friendly as ever, and despite the temptation to stay for lunch, eventually made our way home
